I have seen many of these knocked apart in back yard with no worms and a little dried up compost. a GREAT School classroom device will provide easily access worms for kids to see and understand,for a home system it is a JOKE it is big enough for 1/10th of one vegetarian's waste(so buy ten if you eat a lot of veggies) cannot put in sun it will BAKE worms in 1 hour..main problem,too small, any self respecting raccoon can tear it to shreds with one paw,so if you get one buy some big bungee cords to wrap it in if you have dogs,coons rats,or skunks and possums. other than all that its just expensive and WONDERFUL
