For all your planting needs! Black Gold® Horticultural Perlite is a naturally occurring, volcanic rock. When exposed to high temperatures, it "pops" similar to microwave popcorn. The resulting, lightweight particles are made up of small spheres with a porous, broken surface that promotes plant growth. This allows aeration and drainage of the root system and provides holding capacity for water and nutrients.

Use to improve moisture retention and nutrient retention capabilities in your soil. An excellent medium for rooting cuttings or starting seeds. Also ideal for loosening and improving drainage of existing soil.
