I spent quite some time trying to select a compost bin that would be durable and convenient enough for my family to actually USE. I chose this model because it doesn't have a crank (the crank on my last composter was very persnickety), it is made from recycled food grade plastic and the design is attractive and sturdy. As far as I am concerned it was a good buy. My only complaint is that this unit seems to be out of balance when it isn't full and a bit difficult to turn.
